Title

Mississippi River Flood of 1927, Page 102 Bottom Left; 1927-05-02

Description

From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History 1927 Flood Photograph Collection. Shows the bottom left photo of an album page with four black-and-white photographs of flood scenes. The camera’s view, taken from a train-car’s roof, overlooks a flooded area. The box-car is a part of a row of box-cars that run from the left side of the immediate foreground to the left side background. The rear of the box-car closest to the camera reads "WABASH." There is a water tower in the photo’s right-of-center, with a tree line in the background behind it. There are numerous vehicles parked in the area with flood waters reaching their under-carriages. A figure stands behind the vehicle second-closest to the camera in the photo's center, and there is a small boat between the box-cars and the vehicles. There is a small structure in the center background, as well as another row of box-cars, tall water-towers, and several figures. Text on the right side reads "Rolling-Fork, Miss. 5-2-27."
