Title

Mississippi River Flood of 1927, Page 33 Top Left; 1927-04-30

Description

From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History 1927 Flood Photograph Collection. Shows the top left photo of an album page with four black-and-white photographs of flood scenes. Depicts several figures facing the camera and either sitting or standing on a set of railroad tracks that parallel a second set of tracks, both running from the immediate foreground to the background. There is a raised platform with a large tent on it, as a figure sits on the edge of the platform looking at the camera. In the background is a building with a figure walking up a set of stairs to its door. There is various debris on the tracks, as well as iron stoves between the sets of tracks and a figure standing behind the one closest to the camera. There is a row of utility-poles and a tree line in the background. The tracks are surrounded by flood waters on both sides. Text in bottom right reads "Helm, Miss. 4-30-27."
